Dear David:

Thank you for your letter of confirmation.

I am enclosing a letter I sent to John McCain. I seriously doubt if his staff will ever show him my letter. My letter summarizes most of my concerns.

Every congressman must step forward, and acknowledge that foreign manipulation of oil pricing is a threat to our national security. In 2007, it is estimated that OPEC earned 271 Billion. That figure may be paltry compared to OPEC’S 2008 income.

What do you think this money is financing? How about terrorism, and Iran’s nuclear weapons program.

It is inconceivable that our legislators, senators, congress men and women do not recognize that oil income derived from the Middle East is financing the terrorist nations/groups that positively want to destroy us, and our democracy. We are paying for contingent self-destruction.

Civilian murder by the governing bodies of various nations killed 262 million in the 20^th century. War killed an additional 36 million.

How the issues threatening our security are dealt with reveals the influence and determination of our elected officials to protect us. My grade for government based on lack of action is a D. Government is the only entity capable of stopping America from being destroyed…destruction can come from many sources: financial collapse; civilian malaise/depression; civil unrest/disobedience; prohibiting military action; government over spending driving America into the greatest debtor nation status ever; lack of homeland security that works; letting known terrorists go free by court order, et al.   The United States government, in all branches, exists to enact the consent of the governed.

I, and millions of other citizens are fed up with congressional sessions where the only consistent result is talking, and more talking. Our representatives must be in a proactive state of mind consistent with neutralizing an eminent crisis. There is no time to procrastinate. There is no excuse of self-serving motions, appeals, recommendations, lack of support for critical legislation, party bickering, posturing, et al that are used as tools to obstruct legislation. Failure to act right now puts the onus of the inability of America to become energy independent on the desks of all of those misguided House and Senate representatives who will not approve proposals such as yours. In my opinion, our dependency on foreign oil is no different than paying for the “bullets” that are being used to severely compromise/damage/demoralize/and bankrupt America. To survive, we need the take advantage of solar energy/wind energy immediately. The technology is ready.

We must not foolishly waste years focusing of fuel economy mandates. That kind of legislation keeps us dependent on foreign oil, and puts the responsibility for less oil consumption on the car manufacturers, postponing real progress for years. By then, it will be too late. All of the latest talk is about how the oil companies only make a 7% profit. Sounds like a small amount. Tell my why oil executives are receiving annual bonuses “freebies” upwards of 30 million dollars! Legislation needs to stop this self- enrichment by enacting a law that does not permit oil executives to become filthy rich (more income than they can ever use) by breaking the economic backs of the average taxpayer. 

I predict, sorrowfully, that if America doesn’t act on the issues I’m discussing, we will become a third rate nation bested by China, Asia, South America, Europe, Canada, et cetera.

Dear John,

I am a Vietnam veteran.  I am proud to have served aboard the

USS Proteus AS-19.

 I am qualified to express thoughts centering on my anxiety regarding who will be the next President.

The United States is in a crisis that threatens the very core of our constitutional government, and our ability to survive. America cannot forfeit our sacred status as a free, democratic nation.   The perils facing us now, and in future years are as great as the post Civil War era, 1929’s depression, and the bombing of Pearl Harbor. The enemy is driven by religious fervor.  They are in our midst. They have the intent, desire, wealth, and ability to harm us again.   Iraq should have been neutralized within one year.  We started out fighting a “polite” war, with no battle plans, underestimation of the resilience, and resolve of the enemy, and no exit plan. We didn’t attack with the full force of our military, because we were concerned about world opinion.  Billions of taxpayer dollars went into a black hole.  

I do not support Obama, considering him to be unqualified to assume the office of the presidency, let alone become the Commander in Chief.  I believe our enemies weren’t joking when they announced they would “dance in the streets” if Obama became President. Obama has achieved the status of a celebrity.  I believe the goal of the Islamic jihad is to tear down the White House and replace it with a mosque.  I believe if Islam over runs America, Sharia law will be imposed on America…the end of 200+ years of freedom.   We have witnessed unspeakable Islamic driven atrocities over the past 30 years. Even as I speak, children are being employed as suicide bombers.  Imagine the blood bath that would take place in America if our enemies prevail.  We cannot negotiate with terrorist nations.  They are acting in a manner consistent with their intent to achieve world domination.  If their goals are achieved, there will be no freedom of religion; and no personal freedoms. Every American will have to convert to Islam, or face execution.   Did you know that the chief religious leader of Palestine, circa 1930’s, met with Hitler, and formed a pact to follow in Hitler’s footsteps?  His speeches reached the ears of millions of Muslims, and became the impetus for the terrorist’s mentality the world is now facing. Yassar Arafat was enthralled with this dangerous cleric.  Yet, this spokes person for terrorism was not prosecuted as a war criminal. 

We must immediately provide Israel with the advanced F22 fighter aircraft, and all of the new advanced warning systems.  Israel’s survival is linked to our survival. 

I believe Obama has been groomed for the presidency.  I believe he is sympathetic to the Middle East, and Muslims in general.   I believe his charisma is no different than was Fidel Castro’s campaign to bring reform, and change to the people of Cuba.   I believe he is an appeaser, and does not have the spine, the experience, the intent, or the mindset to understand, and act on the perilous dangers facing America.

I want you, John McCain to stand up, and take an aggressive public stance. A McCain presidency is the last bastion of hope for America. This is not the time to appear to be nice, and friendly.   The public thinks you are too old for the presidency. I don’t agree. You have a reputation of being tough. So, be tough.  We won’t be offended.  Solution:  Follow the path of Dwight D. Eisenhower.  Americans want a President who will protect us at home, while protecting our interests globally.  You need not act “grandfatherly.” You need to obtain the attention, and respect of the voting public. It’s time to set the record straight.  Time is running out.  We do not want the media, nor the “talking heads” to choose who will become President. We thoughtful, concerned patriotic adults do not want under educated youth choosing the next president. They have no hindsight, nor foresight. My point is:  Would it be a good idea to let the nation’s youth chose the next Supreme Court Judge?  You must convey in straight language that our military must win in Iraq, and Afghanistan.  We have billions of dollars of military equipment in Iraq, and conservative estimates show it would take at least 2 years to get our advanced military hardware home.  What is Obama going to do?  Pull out our troops, and leave our sophisticated weapons to fall into the hands of the terrorist regimes? We are not an aggressor nation.   It wouldn’t hurt to tell the American public that Iraq did have WOMD’s.  They were moved out of Iraq (probably to Syria), and likely put on oil tankers prior to our attack.  President Bush has been trivialized by the media, and that makes me angry. His unpopularity is undeserved.  His demeanor in defense of the Iraqi “war” has been apologetic, and conflicted.  Big mistake.  The American public needs to know the truth about WOMD’s.  Bush has become a scapegoat.  Before he retires to his ranch, he should set the record straight about why we attacked Iraq. 

As President, you must issue an executive order for immediate drilling..both onshore, and offshore. This is the voice of America: Drill Now.  The oil companies can pump crude within 6 weeks of the onset of drilling.  You must take action allowing for new refineries, and nuclear energy.  Time is running out.  There will be no recovery if action isn’t taken now.   Our national security is at risk due to our dependence on foreign oil.  I believe ethanol is not a good alternative at this time. Real alternative sources of energy are at least ten years into the future.   Farmers have forsaken wheat crops in order to grow corn, and receive 50% subsidies.  Low wheat production means starvation in the third world countries.

Approximately 60-70% of American families do not even have $50,000 in savings.  These are the people likely to vote for Obama.  These millions of reckless spenders are hoping for a bail out.

Gangs, and their drug related activities are over-running our cities.  They have no respect for law, and order. They’ll kill a doctor just as easily as a rival gang member.  They are organized predators,  and better armed than law enforcement agencies.  They are a cancer eating away at the fabric of our cities, and demoralizing fearful law abiding citizens.   The solution is simple:  no gangs = no drug dealing, and an end to the violence.  Police departments cannot effectively deal with this issue.  We need military-level action to round up, incarcerate, and eliminate the gang overlords, and their growing numbers of gang bangers.  North Korea offered to take our criminals, and charge us $1.50 per day per criminal.  We spend $100,000 per year to keep these scum well fed, and healthy.  If criminals knew they would serve their prison terms in North Korea, crime would evaporate overnight!  Gangs do no deserve to live, and thrive in America, and should have no constitutional rights. If we had a foreign army occupying our cities, would they have legal rights? Gangs, drug dealers, and drug sellers are the enemy within. They only exist to harm us.

  Cindy McCain is your biggest asset.  Why are her tremendous virtues not brought to the public’s attention? Why are your campaign advisors ignoring her?  Unlike Michelle Obama, why is Cindy in the background?  She’s been involved in world problems, having traveled with detonation teams to clear land mines. She has a 19 year old serving in Iraq, another son at the Naval Academy, and a Columbia University graduate daughter.  She founded the Family Foundation for children’s causes, and is active in the Halo Trust.  She is partnered with Operation Smile, and has extensive business, and international experience.  Cindy needs massive media exposure.  She should be in front of the cameras often.  She will propel your candidacy towards victory.

Lastly.  I am neither a hysteric, nor do I suffer from a chicken little syndrome. I am a realist.  I have six university degrees, and believe the comments I’ve set forth in this letter are valid.
